چکیده
Abstract: Introduction: Smoking is the primary cause of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) leading to alarming increase in worldwide death. Cigarette smoking a dangerous risk factor causing mucosal inflammation and lung damage caused by nicotine, which more addictive than other narcotics. This study was undertaken assess potential quinine ameliorating cigarette smoke extract (CSE) induced Zebrafish model. Materials Methods: CSE extracted water exposed concentrations ranging from 0.2 1.0 cig/L. IC50 found be 0.3 cig/L this concentration used for further studies. Induced were treated with 5 mg, 10mg 15 mg/kg analysed reactive oxygen species, nitric oxide levels, myeloperoxidase activity, histopathology expression pro-inflammatory (IL-1) anti-inflammatory (IL-10) cytokine. Results: The results indicate that exposure has significantly increased levels ROS, MPO, NO Upon treatment quinine, dose dependent decrease these observed higher 15mg/kg animals 8 days. cytokine, IL-10 tend increasing quinine. histopathological examination shown damaged gill filaments group Gills neutrophil accumulation whereas changes are not quinine-treated animals. Conclusion: Cumulatively, obtained confirm role CSE-induced Keywords: extracts, Mucosal inflammation, Quinine, Zebrafish.

Azithromycin attenuates cigarette smoke extract-induced oxidative stress injury in human alveolar epithelial cells
Cigarette smoking has been verified to be one of the most important etiological factors causing the development of bronchogenic carcinoma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Azithromycin (AZM) has been demonstrated to have antioxidant capacity. In the present study, whether AZM is able to attenuate cigarette smoke extract (CSE)‑induced A549 cell oxidative stress injury was investigated. ...
متن کاملHypericum Perforatum Extract inhibits Cigarette Smoke Induced Lung Inflammation
Hypericum perforatum, is a plant which blooms between july and september at farms, borders of roads and woods, top of hills and grasslands, whose anti-inflammatory effects are shown in various studies. It is shown that cigarette smoke causes increase in inflammation mediators on lung. Due to this reason, we planned a study to examine the protective effects of Hypericum perforatum aganist smoke ...
متن کاملCelecoxib mitigates cigarette smoke induced oxidative stress in mice.
Cigarette smoke (CS) is a rich source of radicals, predisposing the cell to oxidative stress resulting in inflammation. Chronic inflammation is a recognized risk factor for carcinogenesis. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is a mediator of inflammatory pathway and may, therefore, contribute to carcinogenesis. There are several reports that suggest the association between CS and COX-2 associated risk to ...
متن کاملHeme oxygenase-1 attenuates inflammation and oxidative damage in a rat model of smoke-induced emphysema.
Emphysema is a serious disease of the respiratory system and is associated with inflammation and oxidative stress. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1), a rate-limiting enzyme involved in heme biosynthesis, exerts potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-apoptotic and anti‑proliferative effects in various diseases. In the present study, we examined the effects of HO-1 on smoke‑induced emphysema, as well ...
متن کاملDiosgenin attenuates cardiac oxidative stress in streptozotocin- induced diabetic rat
Background and Objective: Chronic diabetes mellitus (DM) leads to cardiovascular dysfunction. Diosgenin is a natural steroidal saponin with cardiovascular protective potential. In this research study, the beneficial effect of diosgenin was evaluated on some markers of oxidative stress in cardia tissue of streptozotocin (STZ)-diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: Male Wistar rats (n = 28) were ...
